The Dog And Collar
LiverpoolWe were thrilled to be given the opportunity to work on an iconic building in Liverpool’s knowledge quarter.
The team worked tirelessly restoring this beautiful building into a traditional English pub. Every element of this fit out is a feature on its own. From the timber panelling, to the bespoke bars.
SOLUTION
This project involved a thoughtful remodelling of the existing layout, blending traditional character with carefully crafted new elements. A key transformation was the removal of a steel staircase, replaced with a bespoke timber feature stair that became a focal point within the space. Oak veneer wall panelling with detailed beading was installed throughout, complemented by expert French polishing to enhance the natural grain and finish.
Additional works included the manufacture and upholstery of custom bench seating, as well as the full construction of both the front and back bars. Original flooring was restored through meticulous sanding and staining, while original fireplaces were reinstated to celebrate the building’s heritage. Restoration works were also carried out on the traditional roof structure, preserving its integrity. The project was completed with full electrical re-wiring and a complete paint and decorating package, ensuring the refreshed space was both functional and beautifully finished.
"Lewis and his team at Bauen Projects did an excellent job at both, rolling with the changes, and adding design features to the build as we went, which helped us deliver an incredible venue with excellent finishes. "Daniel Kelly, Managing Director
